May at The Civic

Looking for fun things to do in Trowbridge this May? We’ve got you covered!

Our monthly comedy night is back with another hysterical instalment, this time headlined by political satirist Rosie Holt, plus the hilarious Luke Honnoraty and Kate Martin. If jazz, funk, and soul is your thing, then join us for another instalment of @ the Café, this time hosted by our very own Civic Manager!

The Comedy Network
Thursday 18th May | Tickets from £9

Comedy Network shows take place every third Thursday of the month and feature some of the most exciting names in British comedy. Come and unwind after a stressful week and discover your new favourite comedian. Gather your friends, grab a drink from the bar and enjoy laugh out loud comedy from some of the hottest comedians on the circuit.

Rosie Holt – Rosie is an actor and comedian best known for her viral internet videos on Twitter skewering the political landscape since the pandemic. A right-wing opinionist distorting the news, an MP defending a failing government and a left-winger wanting to say the right thing but scared of getting it wrong. These characters come together in a sharp and funny look at modern politics.

“If she can stay in character long enough, she’ll have a telegraph column and a seat on Question Time by teatime” – James O’Brien

Kate Martin – At 6ft 1, with the longest wingspan in comedy (*probably), Kate’s a naturally engaging, energetic performer with effortlessly tight gags to match. Her unique background in mental health has given her a fresh take on the world, a completely distinctive voice, and fuels her high energy storytelling, whip-smart punchlines and razor-sharp observations of life’s quirks through queer eyes.

“She’s definitely got funny bones” – Bruce Dessau, Beyond the Joke

Luke Honnoraty – Luke’s observational comedy which focuses on parenting and relationships, is always delivered with a cheeky but charismatic style, and made him Katherine Ryan’s choice of tour support for her UK tour. He then went on to support Joel Dommett’s tour in 2017 and Lloyd Griffith on his UK tours.

Jazz, Funk & Soul @ the Café: Paul “Shilts” Weimar
